This page tracks updates to the World of Warcraft: Forever beta, newest first. It covers changes to the game, not to this wiki. Each patch is a summary in our own words of Blizzard's official notes, and every patch links to the post it comes from. Where Blizzard's own notes are unclear or contradict each other, we flag it with ⚠ instead of guessing.

Source: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, 1 October, Blizzard Entertainment (Kaivax) · Weekly beta update
Updated: Blizzard added a batch of Warrior changes to this post shortly after it went up (Warrior Updates in Today's Beta Build, 2 October UTC). They are included below.

Paraphrased summary in our own words, not Blizzard's text. Follow the source link for the official notes.

Bug fixes

[edit | edit source]
  • Rain is easier to see.
  • The "Ray Traced Shadows" graphics option has been taken out for now. Blizzard plans to bring it back once it works properly.
  • Night Watchman's Torch no longer causes lag in some situations, and it can now be cancelled.
  • Weapons held in the hand or sheathed on the back now look a more consistent size across all races.

Changes and updates

[edit | edit source]

Camping

[edit | edit source]
  • The Boosted Rest debuff from the camp feature has a new icon and a rewritten, clearer tooltip.
  • Camping text now says "mutually exclusive" rather than just "exclusive", to make it clearer how the features interact.
  • Campfires no longer damage players below level 5, and they deal less damage to players under 90% health.

Items

[edit | edit source]
  • Savory Whimsyfin Delight now turns you into orc versions of the Ninja and Pirate outfits from Savory Deviate Delight.
Developer notes (paraphrased): The previous transformations were placeholders. Blizzard says similar ones may come back in the future.
  • If you sell a Bind on Equip item whose appearance you haven't collected, it now becomes Soulbound (it used to become Bound to Account).

Classes

[edit | edit source]
  • Bear Form and Dire Bear Form now generate 75% more Rage from critical strikes.
  • Swipe now scales with attack power (3% of the Druid's attack power), as intended.
Developer notes (paraphrased): The tooltip won't show this correctly until a later update.
  • Tiger's Fury has been removed.
  • All shapeshift forms are now immune to Disarm effects.
Developer notes (paraphrased): This matches how original WoW felt. Shifting does not remove a Disarm that is already on you, so a Druid disarmed before shifting still deals reduced damage while it lasts.
  • Faerie Fire no longer resets your swing timer.

Feral

  • Primal Bite generates roughly twice as much threat.
  • The King of the Jungle talent has been removed.
  • Tiger's Fury has been removed (Blizzard lists this under both Druid and Feral).
  • New row 4 talent Shifting Power, connected to Shredding Attacks. Cat Form only, 16-second cooldown. It instantly converts 55% of base mana into 40 Energy, the same mana cost as Cat Form. Anything that reduces the cost of shapeshifting also reduces its cost.
  • New row 5 talent Improved Shifting Power, connected to Shifting Power. It reduces Shifting Power's cooldown by 4/8 seconds.

Marksmanship

  • Improved Stings has a new icon with a more Vanilla feel.
  • Sniper Shot (the 31-point talent) now has a 45-yard range. It also adds 10 yards of range to your next 3 shots within 10 seconds.

Survival

  • Predator's Edge has a new icon with a more Vanilla feel.
  • Deflection now gives 1/2/3/4/5% parry chance (was 2/4/6/8/10%).

Pets

  • Aggressive Mode is back. You'll find it on the pet tab of your spellbook.
Developer notes (paraphrased): Some tameable beasts had ranks of pet abilities too high for that creature's level. All of these have been fixed. The bug could make a pet seem to "forget" an ability, which should no longer happen.
⚠ In Blizzard's post this developer note sits under Aggressive Mode, but it seems to be about pet ability ranks.
  • Mage scrolls from Comprehension had another balance pass and can no longer be cast while moving.

Fire

  • Hot Streak is now called Heating Up, because it no longer depends on a "streak".
  • Combustion is back to 3 charges (was 4).
  • Improved Scorch's Fire Vulnerability no longer makes a second resist roll.

Frost

  • Winter's Chill no longer rolls to be resisted when it's applied, since the spell that applies it already had to hit.

Protection

  • Redoubt's block chance is now 4/8/12/16/20% (was 6/12/18/24/30%).
  • Holy Shield's block chance is now 30% (was 20%).

Retribution

  • Champion of the Light now converts Intellect to spell damage at 20/40/60% (was 33/66/100%).
Developer notes (paraphrased): Its tooltip wrongly said it increased healing. It never did, and that part of the tooltip has been removed.
  • Devouring Plague can now critically strike, as intended.
  • Shadow Word: Death no longer always gets the Early Demise bonus regardless of the target's health.

Discipline

  • Inner Focus no longer adds its critical strike bonus to periodic effects.

Shadow

  • Shadow Weaving can no longer fail to apply.
  • If Expose Armor misses, you no longer lose all your combo points.

Subtlety

  • Setup now only adds combo points to your current target if that target is the one whose attack you dodged or whose spell you resisted.
  • Ghost Wolf is easier to see in well-lit areas.
  • Disease Cleansing Totem now lasts its intended 5 minutes.
  • Totemic Recall now restores mana, as intended.
  • Drain Soul is now interrupted properly when the Warlock starts casting another spell.
  • The Incubus pet now uses a lower-resolution model.
  • Hellfire can now critically strike.

Affliction

  • Soul Harvesting is now called Soul Harvest, and it now actually gives its 50/100% increase to mana regeneration.

Pets

  • Aggressive Mode is back. You'll find it on the pet tab of your spellbook.
  • Critical strikes with basic attacks now generate extra Rage: 100% more Rage. ⚠ Blizzard's post says this twice with different numbers. The original line says 75%, and the Warrior block added later says it was "increased to 100% (was 75%)". We show 100% as the current value.
  • Rend and Sunder Armor now tap enemies to the Warrior immediately.
  • Queuing Heroic Strike no longer increases off-hand hit chance.
  • Fixed a bug that made Dual Wield Specialization give its hit chance bonus to both weapons.
Developer notes (paraphrased): Because of this bug, Blizzard's testing needed correcting, so it did another pass on Fury.
⚠ The 1 October Known Issues list below still lists this as a bug. The two posts don't agree.

Arms

  • Spearing Strike no longer needs a two-handed weapon. It needs Battle Stance instead.

Fury

Developer notes (paraphrased): The goal is to give Fury more utility and meaningful choices early in the tree while leveling, and to free up points later instead of forcing players through Enrage to reach Flurry.
  • Dual Wield Specialization no longer increases your off-hand weapon's Rage generation by 20/40/60/80/100%.
  • Unbridled Rage was triggering less often than intended. Fixed.
  • Booming Voice now gives your shouts 10/20/30/40/50% more area of effect and reduces their Rage cost by 5/10/15/20/25%.
  • Unbridled Wrath no longer gives two-handed weapons twice as much Rage.
  • New row 2 talent Lingering Rage: after you leave combat, your Rage takes 2/4/6/8/10 seconds longer to start decaying.
  • Blood Craze no longer triggers from Bloodthirst.
  • The Improved Cleave and Boundless Rage talents have been removed.
  • New row 3 talent Furious Precision: +4/7/10% chance to hit with off-hand attacks.
  • Raging Blows now reduces the Rage cost of Cleave and Whirlwind by 3. It no longer makes Whirlwind strike with your off-hand, because Whirlwind now always strikes with both weapons without needing a talent.
  • Dual Wield Specialization no longer adds hit chance to off-hand attacks.
  • Flurry now requires Death Wish instead of Enrage.
  • New row 6 talent Gore Drinker (requires Enrage): after Enrage, Berserker Rage, Bloodrage, Death Wish or Bloodthirst, your next 3 melee attacks heal you for 0.5/1% of your maximum health.
  • Improved Berserker Rage has moved to row 5 (was row 6).
  • Berserker Rage is now learned at level 30 (was 32).
  • Bloodthirst's attack power ratio is now 45% (was 35%).

Protection

Developer notes (paraphrased): The goal is a clear route to the middle of the tree for warriors who don't use a shield, so Protection can work as a PvP secondary spec with easier access to Improved Bloodrage, Iron Will, Improved Disarm, Last Stand and Improved Shield Bash.
  • Iron Will has moved to Protection row 1 (was Fury row 2).
  • Anticipation has moved to row 2 (was row 1).
  • Toughness has been removed.
  • Improved Bloodrage has moved to row 1 (was row 2).
  • Improved Revenge has moved to row 2 (was row 3).
  • Improved Disarm has moved to row 3 (was row 4).
  • Improved Shield Bash has moved to row 4 (was row 5).

Races

[edit | edit source]
  • Eureka! no longer benefits periodic effects at all. Channeled spells don't count as periodic.
  • Cannibalize can't be used while you are immune to Physical damage.

Quests

[edit | edit source]
Developer notes (paraphrased): After player feedback on leveling speed, Blizzard is reducing the XP from dungeon quests in this build. Some quest rewards have also been recalibrated.
  • Dungeon quests now give 50% less bonus XP on top of the normal quest amount.
  • You can now start escort quests even with 25 or more quests in your log.
  • Some quest items no longer drop in multiples.
  • Quests that give you an item when you accept them, and quests that start from an item, can no longer be shared.
  • Many creatures and objects respawn faster in Hillsbrad Foothills, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Duskwood and Thousand Needles.
Developer notes (paraphrased): Redridge Mountains and Stonetalon Mountains were adjusted in an earlier build. Blizzard asks players to keep reporting areas where quests are hard to finish.

Darkshore

[edit | edit source]
  • "Destruction in Deadmines" now sorts under the dungeon in your quest log.

Druid class quests

[edit | edit source]
  • Loot now drops reliably during "The Great Cat Spirit" and "The Great Windborne Cat Spirit".
  • High Order Skyborne can now do "Power Over Poison" to learn Cure Poison.
  • Shimmer Ridge trolls respawn more evenly, and faster where they were slow. Blizzard's explanation: "It be the cold, mon."

Loch Modan

[edit | edit source]
  • Troggs respawn a little more slowly for "In Defense of the King's Lands".

Mulgore

[edit | edit source]
  • New quest: "Kyle's Gone Missing!"

Redridge Mountains

[edit | edit source]
  • "Blackrock Blockade" has been updated, and its spawn rates adjusted.
  • Serpentbloom Snakes now despawn after a couple of minutes. ("Why'd it have to be snakes?")
  • The pocket watch in Furlbrow's Wardrobe for "The Forgotten Heirloom": Blizzard says its respawn rate was "significantly reduced". ⚠ It isn't clear whether that means it now respawns faster or slower.
  • The undead for "Collecting Memories" and Foreman Thistlenettle for "Oh Brother…" respawn faster.

Professions

[edit | edit source]
  • Every crafted wand of common or uncommon quality now sells to vendors for 1 copper.
  • There are fewer Poor Copper Vein nodes in starter areas.
  • Creatures can once again be skinned only once before they disappear.

Player versus Player

[edit | edit source]
  • Honor costs for PvP gear and upgrade tokens have changed. Most items cost about 50% more, to better match Blizzard's gear acquisition targets.
  • The Honor cap is now 25,000 (was 15,000) to allow for the higher costs.

Cooldown Manager

[edit | edit source]
  • Racial abilities are now supported.
  • Rogue is now supported.
  • Classes that were already supported no longer show a separate entry for every spell rank.

Gamepad support

[edit | edit source]
  • The pet stable interface now works with a gamepad.
  • Gamepad UI bindings are now fixed. Rebinding on a gamepad only changes the keyboard-and-mouse interface.
  • The compact raid and party manager frames now work with a gamepad.
  • Macros placed on a gamepad action bar can be moved again.

User interface

[edit | edit source]
  • On the character sheet, the Spell Damage and Spell Healing tooltips now explain that spell ranks far below your level get less benefit from those stats. Those ranks also have a lower chance to trigger class abilities and talents such as Frostbite and Omen of Clarity.
Developer notes (paraphrased): For example, a Rank 1 Frostbolt cast at level 60 has no chance to trigger Frostbite. You choose between a quick, cheap slow and a chance at Frostbite instead of getting both.
  • Character Creation shows matching icons when Standard Definition models are toggled.
  • The Stables frame has new art.
  • Combo points on the target frame and the Personal Resource Display have new art.
  • Loot rolls in chat now show the player's full name.
  • The auction house now shows item suffixes correctly.

World

[edit | edit source]
  • World instances have been adjusted.
  • Party leaders should no longer be transferred when a party is created or its members change (see the 24 September known issue about world-instance transfers).
Developer notes (paraphrased): Blizzard wants feedback and bug reports as it keeps working on features that affect player populations and grouping.

Known issues (new in this build)

[edit | edit source]

From Blizzard's Known Issues post, 1 October. See the full Known Issues list for older issues.

  • When you chain casts, the next spell's precast effects and sounds don't start until the current cast finishes. For example, a second Fireball cast straight after the first doesn't show the hand glow or crackle until the first cast's animation ends.
  • Enemies can parry and block attacks from behind if you stand very close. Standing a little further back avoids it.
  • The full WoW: Forever install is larger than intended. Blizzard plans to shrink it in a future beta update.
  • Switching into or out of Gamepad UI mode resets your Edit Mode layout to the default preset.
  • Scroll of Liminal Passage doesn't work correctly.
  • Dwarf characters don't have the updated water splash sounds yet (fixed in a later build).
  • Eureka doesn't affect every damage or healing spell for some classes (fixed in a later build).
  • Some debuffs, such as Faerie Fire and Demoralizing Shout, don't generate threat.
  • Mages who learn Research can sometimes be blocked from using it.
  • Warriors' Dual Wield Specialization gives 2/4/6/8/10% hit chance to both hands instead of only the off-hand. ⚠ This conflicts with the fix in the Warrior notes above.
  • Retribution Aura uses the target's spell power instead of the Paladin's.
  • Taillasher Eggs for "Break A Few Eggs" respawn more slowly than intended (fixed in a later build).
  • Anduin Wrynn and many other children are wearing hats by mistake. Blizzard is removing them, but "they keep giggling and running away".

24 September 2026

[edit | edit source]

Source: WoW Forever Beta Development Notes, 24 September, Blizzard Entertainment (Kaivax) · Weekly beta update
Updated: Blizzard edited this post again on 1 October. This summary is based on the post as it reads now. Earlier versions can't be checked.

Paraphrased summary in our own words, not Blizzard's text. Follow the source link for the official notes.

Bug fixes

[edit | edit source]
  • Casters play their precast animations again and no longer sometimes stand up while casting.
  • The sound for jumping in water has been replaced with a more pleasant one.
  • Human death sounds have been adjusted.
  • Campfires:
    • Casting or crafting no longer makes you stand up while you wait for the Campfire buff. You can now buff others, cast and craft while waiting.
    • You can now get the Campfire buff while sitting (including in a chair), sleeping, lying down or using the kneel emote.
  • Huey Sunnydale's legs now render properly.
  • A Season of Discovery rune ability that was showing by mistake no longer appears.
  • Pet Happiness now goes down even when your pet is at maximum loyalty.
  • The ooze in the Undercity canal is no longer much brighter than intended.
  • Removed a setting that could switch off fog in a way it shouldn't.
  • Mac: fixed a water display issue and various other display artifacts.
  • Fixed a memory leak that slowly reduced performance for some players.
  • In-game mail no longer ignores surnames.

Classes

[edit | edit source]
  • Beta only: if you haven't changed talents recently, a respec costs 1 silver. After your first reset the price is much higher, but it drops back to 1 silver after an hour.
  • Rejuvenation and Tranquility can now critically strike.
  • Wrath's base damage is up by about 50%.
  • Thorns now updates its values from the caster's spell power. If the caster can't be found or is too far away, it falls back to its base values.

Feral

  • Mangle is now called Primal Bite. Its signature debuff was removed, so the old name no longer fitted. Talents that mentioned Mangle now refer to Primal Bite.
  • The Primal Fury talent is back to its original name and icon, Blood Frenzy.
  • Feral Charge (Cat) can no longer be cast on allies.

Restoration

  • Wild Growth can now critically strike.

Pets

  • Furious Howl's attack power bonus is 40% lower.
  • Bat pets now properly get Sonic Blast.
  • Tame Beast no longer works on Beasts above the Hunter's level.

Marksmanship

  • If you don't take the Lone Wolf talent, you no longer suffer a −4% damage penalty while your pet is out.

Survival

  • Lacerating Strikes can now critically strike.
  • Strider Kick now gives 30% movement speed for 3 seconds.
  • Arcane Missiles now checks line of sight once, at the start of the channel, instead of for every missile. A target moving out of sight mid-channel no longer stops the missiles.

Fire

  • The Wake of Fire buff now lasts 30 seconds (was 20).
Developer notes (paraphrased): It was hard to make good use of while leveling, because Mages stop to restore mana between fights. The longer duration should make it smoother.
  • The Hot Streak buff now lasts 20 seconds (was 15).
  • Ignite no longer double-dips on percentage damage increases.
  • Retribution Aura now updates its values from the caster's spell power.
  • The Flash of Light cast animation plays at the end of the cast again.
  • Consecration fixes: its increased-damage effect now reaches every target, its vertical (Z-axis) behaviour is consistent, and it no longer pulls targets that are above or below the caster.
  • Holy Strike's weapon damage per rank is now 25/29/32/36/39/43/46/50% (was 25/25/30/30/35/35/40/40%).
Developer notes (paraphrased): This raises Holy Strike's damage at every stage of leveling and its share of your rotation. Early ranks didn't always feel like an upgrade when you bought them.
  • Echo of Justice no longer triggers more often than intended.
  • Righteous Fury now increases Holy threat by 60% (was 90%).

Holy

  • Holy Strike's cooldown is now 10 seconds (was 12).
  • Improved Holy Strike has been removed from the talent tree.
Developer notes (paraphrased): A talent that cut a core ability's cooldown this early in a healing tree felt mandatory, so its effect is now baseline.
  • Light's Vigil's tooltip has been reorganised to make clear that only the damage part refunds some of the mana cost.
  • Holy Power now also gives Holy Strike +15% critical strike chance, on top of its existing effects.

Retribution

  • Vengeance now triggers from non-periodic critical strikes.
  • Vengeance now stacks to 3 (was 5).
  • Two-Handed Weapon Specialization now increases damage by 2/4/6% (was 3/6/9%).
  • Sacred Arbiter now increases Holy Strike damage by 20% (was 10%).
  • Twist of Light now also reduces the mana cost of your Seals by 20%.
  • Renew can now critically strike.
  • Power Word: Shield can now always replace an existing Power Word: Shield on a target that doesn't have Weakened Soul.

Racial Priest spells (listed by Blizzard under Priest)

  • Gnome: Contingency Plan can now critically strike. Confounding Flash now has a cast visual that looks more Holy than Arcane, with updated sounds to match.
  • Night Elf: Starshards now gets resistance to spell pushback from the Twilight Focus talent.
  • Undead: Dark Sacrifice no longer breaks crowd control effects that break on damage. Its tooltip now correctly says the mana it gives scales with Spirit.
  • Sap now flags the Rogue for PvP when used on a PvP-flagged target.
  • Lightning Bolt ranks 3 and 4 hit harder, so each rank is always an upgrade over the ones before, despite the cast time changes.
  • Windfury Totem's buff now shows as "Windfury Totem" (not "Windfury Totem Passive"). Flametongue Totem's buff now shows as "Flametongue Totem" (not "Flametongue Totem Effect").
  • Flametongue Totem no longer has a duration and is replaced immediately when you place another totem. Recasting it no longer stacks it, and it no longer stacks with Flametongue Weapon or Windfury Totem.
  • Tranquil Air Totem, Windfury Totem and Grace of Air Totem no longer stack with each other, even when different Shamans in the same group place them.

Elemental

  • Elemental Fury (row 3) and Elemental Alacrity (row 6) have swapped places.
Developer notes (paraphrased): Early critical strike damage talents are exciting for other specs, but Elemental doesn't have enough crit chance while leveling to feel them. Moving a stronger Elemental talent earlier gives the spec real progression moments at low level. Blizzard knows this affects Enhancement's spell crit damage and plans to use the freed space to add more for Enhancement later.
  • Lava Burst ranks 1 and 2 now do about 10% more base damage than the Lightning Bolt rank you learn at around the same level.

Enhancement

  • Rage of the Far Seer (row 7) no longer increases spell casting speed.
Developer notes (paraphrased): The casting speed wasn't needed for what the ability is for, so it was removed.

Restoration

  • Riptide can now critically strike.
  • Life Tap's tooltip now shows the correct amount of life converted, and it now only mentions scaling with Spirit.
  • Voidwalker Sacrifice now correctly scales with 10% of the Warlock's spell healing.
  • Sunder Armor's threat has been corrected on every rank, including a small increase to the threat it gets from attack power.

Protection

  • Bastion (row 5) and Focused Rage (row 6) have swapped places.
Developer notes (paraphrased): Getting Focused Rage sooner should make leveling as Protection smoother before you get Shield Slam.

Arms

  • Bloodthrill's chance to trigger is now 4/8/12/16/20% (was 2/4/6/8/10%). It only triggers from main-hand melee attacks, including Cleave and Heroic Strike.
  • Slam's cooldown is now 18 seconds (was 15).
  • Improved Slam now reduces Slam's cooldown by 1.5/3 seconds.

Races

[edit | edit source]
  • Eureka now gives a 10% discount on Mana, Rage or Energy abilities for every class.
  • Will to Survive's visual now matches Dispel Magic instead of Will of the Forsaken.
  • Cultivation now has a character-level requirement for each herb, equal to the Herbalism skill needed to pick it divided by 5. Herbs that need more than 300 Herbalism can be Cultivated at level 60.
  • Touch of the Grave no longer breaks crowd control, and it no longer triggers from spells and abilities that don't deal damage. ⚠ Blizzard lists this under Tauren.
Developer notes (paraphrased): For example, Shadow Word: Pain triggers it when cast but not from its periodic damage. Distract won't trigger it, so you can't use it to pull Rogues and Druids out of Stealth, and Pick Pocket won't trigger it either. Polymorph already wasn't broken by it, and Polymorph can no longer trigger it.

Items

[edit | edit source]
  • A few guns and bows weren't consuming or using ammunition. Fixed.
  • A number of quest rewards now have the correct item level.
  • A few early caster rewards have been adjusted.
  • Wizard oils are back to their Classic Era values: Minor Wizard Oil 8 spell power, Lesser Wizard Oil 16 and Wizard Oil 24. Brilliant Wizard Oil is unchanged.
  • Wands no longer gain extra damage from your spell damage.

Quests

[edit | edit source]
  • Some dungeon quests could be shared, which gave the player receiving them a quest item. Fixed.

Dalaran

[edit | edit source]
  • Faction adjustments. There are now spawns in the area just outside the city entrance.
  • Snow Leopard Prowlers respawn much faster.
  • Fixed some players being unable to loot the rifle for "Treacherous Cold".

Durotar

[edit | edit source]
  • The escort NPC for "Lost in the Shadows" respawns faster.

Elwynn Forest

[edit | edit source]
  • "Book Return" now removes the extra Book Bag from your bags when you complete it.
  • There are more crates and supply spawns for "Stolen Enchanting Supplies" (Blizzard lists this twice).
  • Murloc camps around Crystal Lake respawn faster. ("Mrrglrlrlrmgrr!")
  • Mother Fang respawns a little more slowly and doesn't always drop a green item.
  • Shinyfinder Narf respawns faster, and its quest item can now be looted by everyone in the party.
  • Nimsy respawns faster.
  • You can now learn Skinning from Helene Peltskinner even while you have her quest.
  • Jasperlode Mine and Fargodeep Mine were deadlier than intended for solo players, so Blizzard has taken away their candles. ("We do not anticipate any fallout from this theft.")

Mulgore

[edit | edit source]
  • Water Pitchers respawn faster for "A Humble Task".

Silithus

[edit | edit source]
  • Khonsu's arrival has been removed from the beta for now. Blizzard says it will come back to Azeroth in the future.
  • Pyrewood Village worgen respawn faster.

Teldrassil

[edit | edit source]
  • "Bounty: Gnarlpine Furbolg" now needs 15 kills (was 20).
  • The Skyborne quest "Exploring the Horde" now completes the objective to speak with Lady Sylvanas Windrunner.
  • The Defias Messenger spawns more often.

Zephras Isle

[edit | edit source]
  • The High Order Skyborne quest "Catching Wind" has been redesigned, and spawns at the Overlook Standing Stones in Shen'dar Highlands have been adjusted.
  • The druids of Nightclaw Cavern now give credit for "Wounds of Betrayal" properly when healed.
  • "A Firm Response" now gives credit properly.

Cooldown Manager

[edit | edit source]
  • The Cooldown Manager is a new, optional display. It pulls key information from your buff bar and action bars into a spot you can place and customise. It is off by default. Turn it on under Options → Gameplay Enhancement.
  • Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior and Warlock can test it now. More classes will follow in later updates.
  • Blizzard most wants to hear which spells you'd like tracked by default.
  • Spell ranks aren't supported yet. Blizzard plans to add them in a later beta update.

Gamepad support

[edit | edit source]
  • Some classes now have class-specific flyouts on the action bar:
    • Druid: shapeshift forms
    • Hunter and Warlock: pet control and pet spells
    • Paladin: auras
    • Warrior: stances
  • For Hunters and Warlocks, the pet bar no longer replaces the bottom gamepad action bar.
  • New options in the Gamepad (Alpha) section of the game options:
    • Use Compact Action Bar: shows only the action bar you're currently using.
    • Fixed Party Targeting: in a party (not a raid), each direction on the directional pad targets a specific party member.
    • Swap Target Modifier Sides: puts friendly targeting on the right and hostile targeting on the left.
    • Swap Friendly Target Action Sides and Swap Hostile Target Action Sides: swap the directional pad and face button actions for that targeting modifier.
  • Edit Mode layouts now apply while the gamepad UI is on.
  • Map and Quest Log bindings have been updated.
  • New hover behaviour for map POI pins.
  • Better support for the Compact Raid Frame Manager and Role Poll frames.

User interface

[edit | edit source]
  • The nameplate selection display has been updated.
  • The Personal Resource Display has new textures.

Known issues (new in this build)

[edit | edit source]

From Blizzard's Known Issues post, 24 September.

  • Cooldown Manager:
    • Banes and Curses aren't tracked properly if you drop your target and then target something that already has your bane or curse on it.
    • The Healthstone cooldown can't be tracked.
    • Priests track every spell by default.
    • Arcane Blast can't be tracked.
    • The Mana Gem cooldown only starts tracking after the Mage casts another spell.
    • Pet cooldowns can't be tracked.
    • Weapon enhancements such as Windfury or rogue poisons can't be tracked.
  • Forming or changing a party may move players to a different world instance. Blizzard is working on it. (The 1 October World changes address this for party leaders.)
  • The minimap in Stormwind has display problems. Blizzard plans to fix them in a later build.
  • The Personal Resource Display doesn't show combo points.

Marked as resolved by Blizzard in the same post (fixed in the next beta build):

  • Teldrassil: during "Escaping Ban'ethil", Sentinel Lynessa Duskblossom ran too fast and used her Strike ability far too often.
  • Loch Modan: "Snowbound" gave more XP than intended.

22 September 2026

[edit | edit source]

Source: Beta Client Update, September 22, Blizzard Entertainment (Kaivax) · Client update (update the client via the Battle.net app)
Build: 1.60.1 (build 69977)

Paraphrased summary in our own words, not Blizzard's text. Follow the source link for the official notes.
  • Display and stability fixes for Mac.
