Template:Patch Notes

Header box for one patch on Patch Notes. Put it straight under that patch's date heading, then write the notes underneath as normal wikitext with === Section === headings in Blizzard's order (Bug fixes, Changes and updates, Classes, Races, Items, Quests, Professions, Player versus Player, Cooldown Manager, Gamepad support, User interface, World, Known issues).

Parameters

source: URL of the official Blizzard post (required)

source_label: link text (default "Official Blizzard forum post")

author: Blizzard poster, e.g. Kaivax

type: e.g. "Weekly beta update" or "Client update"

build: build number. Leave blank unless Blizzard states it. The line is hidden when empty.

updated: note any later edits Blizzard made to the post

summary: one-line summary

The <span id="YYYY-MM-DD"></span> inside the heading gives each patch a stable link, e.g. [[Patch Notes#2026-10-01]]. Paraphrase Blizzard's notes. Keep any direct quotes to one short sentence, and put developer notes in Template:Dev note.
