Razorfen Downs is the quilboar's ancestral burial ground, taken over by the Scourge under the lich Amnennar the Coldbringer.

It sits just south of Razorfen Kraul, on the border between the Barrens and Thousand Needles. It is another bramble maze, this time full of undead quilboar and Scourge cultists. Both factions run it. Its level range is above what the Forever beta had opened at the time of writing, so this page is mostly based on Classic data.

Very little Forever-specific data exists for this dungeon yet. Content marked as Classic data may change before launch on 4 November 2026.

History

[edit | edit source]
Lore from Classic – Forever may differ.

Razorfen Downs is the sacred burial ground of the quilboar, crafted from the same giant thorns as Razorfen Kraul. The lich Amnennar the Coldbringer and his Scourge have now taken it over. Some of the quilboar have joined him in the Death's Head cult and worship the undead, while the rest of their dead have been raised to serve the Scourge. The Scourge's presence so far south threatens the whole of the Barrens.

The earth-mother priest Belnistrasz, a disguised bronze dragon, has come to the Downs to stop the undead. He asks adventurers to help him destroy the cult's great idol.

Getting there

[edit | edit source]

The entrance is a little south of Razorfen Kraul, at the southern edge of the Barrens where the Great Lift descends to Thousand Needles. Horde players usually come from Camp Taurajo. Alliance players come from Thalanaar or Thousand Needles.

Bosses

[edit | edit source]
Boss abilities and loot are Classic data – Forever may differ. None of this loot had been seen on the beta at the time of writing.

Tuten'kash

[edit | edit source]

A giant spider summoned by ringing the gong in the central hall. Ringing it first brings waves of spiders; Tuten'kash comes with the last wave.

Mordresh Fire Eye

[edit | edit source]

A Death's Head quilboar caster who uses Fire Nova and Fireball.

Glutton

[edit | edit source]

A bloated undead quilboar who uses Disease Cloud.

Plaguemaw the Rotting

[edit | edit source]

A diseased quilboar abomination.

Lady Falther'ess

[edit | edit source]

A banshee encounter listed in the loot data.

Amnennar the Coldbringer

[edit | edit source]

The lich himself, the final boss. He uses Frost Nova and Frostbolt Volley, and summons Frozen Spectres as the fight goes on.

Tactics: Kill the spectres as they appear, and heal through the frost volleys. His death completes Scourge of the Downs, Bring the Light and Bring the End.

Ragglesnout (rare)

[edit | edit source]

A rare spawn.

Other drops

[edit | edit source]

Trash drops include Quillshooter, Manslayer, Freezing Shard, Corpseshroud, Thoughtcast Boots, Death's Head Vestment and Quillward Harness.

Extinguishing the Idol

[edit | edit source]
Classic data – Forever may differ.

Belnistrasz, found near the start of the dungeon, asks the group to protect him while he performs a ritual to destroy the Death's Head idol. During the ritual, waves of undead quilboar attack. Keep them off Belnistrasz until he finishes, then loot the brazier for the reward.
