Zone Stormwind City
Continent Eastern Kingdoms
Level Range 24–32
Players 5

The Stockade is Stormwind's prison, taken over by inmates in a riot led by Bazil Thredd.

It is a small, quick dungeon in the middle of the Alliance capital, so it's easy for Alliance groups to form and run it repeatedly. The layout is a simple set of corridors lined with cells. There are five bosses plus a rare, and a full clear takes about 20–30 minutes. In Classic its bosses dropped almost nothing, but Forever has given most of them proper loot tables.

Information on this page comes from the Forever beta (client builds 1.60.1.69913 to 1.60.1.70009, September 2026). Stats, drops and quest rewards can still change before launch on 4 November 2026.

History

[edit | edit source]
Lore from Classic – Forever may differ.

The Stockade is Stormwind's prison, home to petty thieves, political agitators, murderers and some of the most dangerous criminals in the kingdom. Many of the inmates are members of the Defias Brotherhood. A riot led by Bazil Thredd has driven the guards out, and the convicts now roam free inside.

Warden Thelwater escaped and is recruiting adventurers to go in and put down the uprising. Several of the prisoners had been sentenced to death, including the Blackrock orc Targorr the Dread and the grave robber Dextren Ward, but their executions were delayed by the nobility and they are now loose with the rest.

Getting there

[edit | edit source]

The entrance is in the canals beside the Mage Quarter of Stormwind City, at roughly 41, 58 on the Stormwind map, next to Warden Thelwater. Alliance players can walk straight in. Horde players have to get deep into Stormwind first, which is difficult, especially on PvP realms.

Changes from Classic

[edit | edit source]
  • Real loot tables. In Classic most Stockade bosses dropped nothing except quest items. Forever gives Targorr, Hamhock and Bazil Thredd three or four new items each, gives Kam Deepfury a new pair of bracers, and adds new trash drops.
  • Group size is 5 players.

Bosses

[edit | edit source]
Boss locations and abilities are Classic data – Forever may differ.

Targorr the Dread

[edit | edit source]

A Blackrock orc prisoner who can be in any of several cells along the first corridor.

Tactics: A plain tank-and-spank; he's just a stronger version of the prisoners around him. His head is needed for What Comes Around...

Item Type
Executioner Mantle Shoulder, Leather (new in Forever)
Blackrock Harness Chest, Leather (new in Forever)
Dark Horde Band Finger (new in Forever)

Kam Deepfury

[edit | edit source]

A Dark Iron dwarf found in one of the cells along the corridors. He is level 27.

Abilities:

  • Shield Slam – hits the tank and stuns them for 2 seconds.
  • Runs for help – at 15% health he flees to fetch more prisoners. Finish him before he gets away.

Tactics: Slow him down with snares or burn him quickly at low health. His head is needed for The Fury Runs Deep.

Item Type
Kam's Walking Stick Two-Hand, Staff (very rare)
Bridgebreaker Bindings Wrist, Cloth (new in Forever)

Hamhock

[edit | edit source]

An ogre guarding the far end of the east corridor. He always pulls with the two prisoners next to him.

Abilities: Chain Lightning and Bloodlust.

Tactics: Crowd-control one of his guards (Sap or Polymorph) and kill the other first. Interrupt Chain Lightning, and purge or dispel Bloodlust if you can.

Item Type
Hamhock's Cleaver Main Hand, Axe (new in Forever)
Ogre Grips Hands, Mail (new in Forever)

Dextren Ward

[edit | edit source]

A grave robber at the far end of the west corridor.

Abilities: Fear.

Tactics: The corridors are narrow, and a feared player can easily run into another group of prisoners. Use fear-breaking tools (Fear Ward, Tremor Totem, Will of the Forsaken and so on) and fight him with the nearby cells already cleared. His hand is needed for Crime and Punishment.

Bazil Thredd

[edit | edit source]

The leader of the riot, in the furthest room of the east corridor. He is the highest-level enemy in the dungeon and pulls with his two nearest prisoners.

Abilities: a stun.

Tactics: Clear the rooms either side of him first so you have space, and keep lower-level players back so nobody pulls him by accident. His head is needed for The Stockade Riots.

Item Type
Defias Jailbreakers Hands, Leather (new in Forever)
Red Wool Cloak Back (new in Forever)
Debt Collector Main Hand, Sword (new in Forever)
Concealed Hand Crossbow Ranged, Crossbow (new in Forever)

Bruegal Ironknuckle (rare)

[edit | edit source]

A rare spawn that doesn't appear on every run. In Classic he was the only real source of loot in the Stockade.

Item Type
Jimmied Handcuffs Wrist, Mail
Prison Shank One-Hand, Dagger
Iron Knuckles One-Hand, Fist Weapon

Other drops

[edit | edit source]

Trash can drop the Defias Renegade Ring and the new Sharpened Cutlery (thrown weapon). Every prisoner is also a good source of wool cloth.

Route details are Classic data – Forever may differ.
  1. From the entrance the prison splits into corridors. Check each cell as you go: Targorr and Kam Deepfury can be in any of several cells.

  3. East corridor – Hamhock guards the far end, and Bazil Thredd is in the last room beyond him.
  4. Watch for Bruegal Ironknuckle. Look out for the treasure chests along the way too.
