Enchanting is a primary crafting profession in World of Warcraft: Forever. Enchanters add permanent bonuses to weapons and armor, disenchant unwanted magical gear into dust, essences and shards, and craft magical items.

Forever adds new wands, staves, off-hands, relics (idols, librams and totems) and enchants, plus new enchantable slots. It also adds the Enchanted Lute / Arcane Salvager / Arcane Forge camp line, Merchant's Favor formulas, Craftsman's Writs, Legacy milestones and an account-wide title.

WoW: Forever is in beta. Everything on this page comes from Forever sources and the beta client, and may change before launch on 4 November 2026.

Use a Forever shopping list. 95 formulas use different materials in Forever, so older material lists won't match.

Why choose Enchanting?

[edit | edit source]
  • Gear for every class – permanent enchants, plus new relics for Druids, Paladins and Shamans, and staves and orbs for casters of any level.
  • Self-sufficient – materials come from disenchanting green-or-better items, so no gathering profession is needed.
  • New item types – early relics and leveling staves unlock at 130–140 skill, most new formulas need 210–220, and the top items and enchants need 300. Examples include Formula: Enchant Weapon - Revelation (140) and Enchant Gloves - Lotus Claw (295), which can turn up Death Lotus from herbs gathered in Hyjal.
  • Disenchanting at camp – the Arcane Salvager makes disenchanting more efficient.

Recipes

[edit | edit source]

Every Enchanting formula in the beta client, with its reagents, skill colours, requirements and recipe item, is listed on Enchanting recipes. The list is built from the client's own recipe tables (build 1.60.1.70124).

Rank Formulas New in Forever
Apprentice (1–75) 10 4
Journeyman (75–150) 44 14
Expert (150–225) 59 20
Artisan (225–300) 127 51
Total 240 89

Counts are entries in the client's skill table, so they can differ slightly from the figures other sites quote.

New formulas in Forever

[edit | edit source]

The beta client has 215 formulas, 63 of them new, with 27 of the new ones at Artisan skill. The new materials include Cerulean Dye, Magenta Dye, Malleable Essence of Nature, Pyrite, Starwood, Sandpaper and Sulfuric Acid. Some of the new formulas need 210 Enchanting and are bought with Merchant's Favor. The full list is on Enchanting recipes.

New Artisan formulas (skill 300, item level 65)

[edit | edit source]
Item Slot
Idol of Swiftness Relic
Idol of the Ursine Twins Relic
Libram of Infusion Relic

The wand line runs from the Novice's Practice Wand up to the Torch of Light.

Camping

[edit | edit source]

Enchanters build camp objects that sit at a player's campfire. For how camps work, see Camping. Each craft makes 2 objects. Tier 2 and 3 can be placed over an Enchanted Lute to replace it.

Tier Object Skill Effect Reagents Source
1 Enchanted Lute 20 You and others sitting nearby gain Armor, all stats and resistances. Does not stack with Mark of the Wild. Simple Wood, Strange Dust Trainer (Camping 101 quest)
2 Arcane Salvager 140 More efficient disenchanting, plus all Enchanted Lute benefits. 2 Vision Dust, Lesser Nether Essence Blueprint: Arcane Salvager
3 Arcane Forge 300 Usable for recipes that need an Arcane Forge, plus all Enchanted Lute benefits. Maker's Spark, 2 Large Brilliant Shard, 4 Greater Eternal Essence Blueprint: Arcane Forge

Merchant's Favor, writs and title

[edit | edit source]
  • Merchant's Favor from Waylaid Crates buys Enchanting formulas at the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) and Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde).
  • Craftsman's Writs ask for Enchanting items and reward reputation with those factions: 75 (Journeyman), 125 (Expert) or 200 (Artisan).
  • Enchanting Certification costs 1,000 Merchant's Favor at 300 skill. It unlocks "the Enchanter" title for the whole account.

Leveling 1–300

[edit | edit source]

This route is calculated from the beta client's recipe tables. It has 8 steps and needs about 618 materials. The only vendor trip is Darnassus (Alliance) or Undercity (Horde).

Skill Craft Qty Materials (each)
1–15 Enchant Bracer - Inferior Stamina 14 Mote of Magic
15–90 Enchant Chest - Inferior Stamina 83 Strange Dust
90–130 Enchant Cloak - Minor Protection 48 2 Strange Dust
130–180 Enchant Bracer - Lesser Stamina 64 Soul Dust
180–210 Enchant Bracer - Strength 32 Vision Dust
210–259 Enchant Gloves - Agility 71 Vision Dust
259–272 Enchant Bracer - Greater Strength 16 Dream Dust, 2 Lesser Nether Essence
272–300 Enchant Shield - Greater Stamina 32 6 Dream Dust

Checkpoints: train Journeyman at 50, Expert at 125 and Artisan at 200. Formula: Enchant Shield - Greater Stamina is sold by Mythrin'dir (Darnassus) or Daniel Bartlett (Undercity).

Shopping list: 14 Mote of Magic, 179 Strange Dust, 64 Soul Dust, 103 Vision Dust, 208 Dream Dust, 32 Lesser Nether Essence. Quantities are for the whole route, after subtracting what earlier steps make for later ones. You'll also need Formula: Imbue Cloak - Protection, Formula: Enchant Shield - Greater Stamina (binds on pickup).

Legacy

[edit | edit source]

Reaching 150, 225 and 300 Enchanting each awards 1 Legacy Point the first time. Useful perks: Working Overtime (+4% skill-up chance, 10% at rank 5), Dedicated Study (+1 to your lowest tradeskill, 23 hr cooldown), Performance Bonus (5% chance of double Merchant's Favor from a crate) and Reagent Economy (Tier 1 camp objects cost no reagents).

Pairing

[edit | edit source]

Tailoring is the usual partner. Neither needs a gathering profession, and you can disenchant the green gear you make while leveling Tailoring.
