Leatherworking is a primary crafting profession in World of Warcraft: Forever. Leatherworkers turn leather, hides and scales into leather and mail armor, armor kits and other goods.
Leatherworking has the most new recipes of any Forever profession: 271 new patterns, 139 of them at Artisan skill. It also takes over six plate-and-mail pieces as Leatherworking patterns, and adds the Camp Tent / Tanning Rack / Sewing Machine camp line, Merchant's Favor patterns, Craftsman's Writs and Legacy milestones.
WoW: Forever is in beta. Everything on this page comes from Forever sources and the beta client, and may change before launch on 4 November 2026.
Use a Forever leveling route. Most patterns stop giving skill-ups about 25 points sooner in Forever. The route on this page uses the beta client's own values.

Camping
[edit | edit source]Leatherworkers build camp objects that sit at a player's campfire. For how camps work, see Camping. Each craft makes 2 objects. Tier 2 and 3 can be placed over a Camp Tent to replace it.
| Tier | Object | Skill | Effect | Reagents | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | You and others sitting nearby have Rested experience raised to 5% of a level (no effect if already higher). | 5 Light Leather | Trainer (Camping 101 quest) | |
| 2 | 140 | Lets players create certain reagents, plus all Camp Tent benefits. | 5 Medium Leather, 3 Fine Thread, 2 Simple Wood | Blueprint: Tanning Rack | |
| 3 | 300 | Usable for recipes that need it, plus all Camp Tent benefits. | Undeath Engine, 5 Rugged Leather, Rune Thread | Blueprint: Sewing Machine |
Merchant's Favor, writs and title
[edit | edit source]- Merchant's Favor from Waylaid Crates buys Leatherworking patterns at the Azeroth Commerce Authority (Alliance) and Durotar Supply and Logistics (Horde).
- Craftsman's Writs ask for Leatherworking items and reward reputation with those factions: 75 (Journeyman), 125 (Expert) or 200 (Artisan).
- A profession Certification and title for 1,000 Merchant's Favor at 300 skill is expected on the same pattern as the other crafting professions. Not yet confirmed for Leatherworking.
