Scarlet Monastery is the Scarlet Crusade's fanatical stronghold in Tirisfal Glades, split into the Graveyard, Library, Armory and Cathedral wings.

Each wing is a separate instance with its own entrance and its own difficulty, so groups usually run them in order as they level: Graveyard, then Library, then Armory, then Cathedral. It sits in Horde territory, but both factions run it, and there are quests for each side. Its wings are above the Forever beta's early level cap, so most of its loot hadn't been seen on the beta at the time of writing, and much of this page is based on Classic.

Information on this page comes from the Forever beta (client builds 1.60.1.69913 to 1.60.1.70009, September 2026) where available. Stats, drops and quest rewards can still change before launch on 4 November 2026.

History

[edit | edit source]
Lore from Classic – Forever may differ.

The Scarlet Crusade grew out of the survivors of the fallen Kingdom of Lordaeron, humans driven to fanatical hatred of the undead. They see the Scourge taint everywhere and will kill anyone they suspect of being touched by it, living or dead. The monastery in northern Tirisfal Glades is their great stronghold, a centre of religious fervour and the training ground for their zealots.

Its wings hold the Crusade's graveyard and its tormented prisoners, a great library of arcane and historical knowledge, an armory where their soldiers train, and the cathedral itself. In the cathedral, Scarlet Commander Mograine and High Inquisitor Whitemane lead the faithful.

Getting there

[edit | edit source]

The monastery stands in the far north-east of Tirisfal Glades, past the Scarlet camps along the road east. The four wing entrances are around the monastery courtyard. Horde players come from the Undercity or Brill. Alliance players have a long trip through Horde territory, usually coming up from the Western Plaguelands or Southshore.

Wings

[edit | edit source]
Boss abilities and locations are Classic data – Forever may differ.

Graveyard

[edit | edit source]

The shortest wing: the monastery's crypts and burial grounds, full of the Crusade's interrogators and the restless dead they've created.

Interrogator Vishas – a torturer who casts Shadow Word: Pain.

Bloodmage Thalnos – a Scarlet caster at the end of the wing, using Flame Spike and Fire Nova.

Rares – one of Ironspine, Azshir the Sleepless or the Fallen Champion may appear in the crypts.

Scorn – a frost boss who has been seen on the Forever beta. In Classic he appeared only during the Scourge invasion event.

Library

[edit | edit source]

The monastery's great library, guarded by hounds and scholars.

Houndmaster Loksey – attacks with his pack of tracking hounds and uses Bloodlust.

Arcanist Doan – the keeper of the library, at the far end. At low health he shields himself with Detonation and then releases a huge Arcane Explosion around him. Run out of range when he starts, and interrupt his casts.

Armory

[edit | edit source]

The Crusade's training grounds and weapons store.

Herod – the Scarlet Champion, a warrior who uses Whirlwind and Rushing Charge and enrages. After he dies, a wave of Scarlet Trainees rushes in from the halls behind.

Cathedral

[edit | edit source]

The heart of the monastery, the longest and hardest wing.

High Inquisitor Fairbanks – found in a side chamber of the cathedral.

Scarlet Commander Mograine – a paladin who uses Hammer of Justice, Divine Shield and Lay on Hands.

High Inquisitor Whitemane – she enters once Mograine falls, casts Sleep on the group and resurrects him. Be ready to fight both at once.

Shared drops

[edit | edit source]

The same set of trash drops can be found across all four wings, including the Scarlet armour pieces (Scarlet Chestpiece, Scarlet Belt, Scarlet Leggings, Scarlet Gauntlets, Scarlet Boots, Scarlet Wristguards) and weapons such as Cobalt Crusher, Headsplitter, Dreamslayer and Bloodspiller.
