Fishing is one of the three secondary professions in World of Warcraft: Forever, alongside First Aid and Cooking. Anglers catch fish and other items from waters across Azeroth, and it pairs naturally with Cooking.

Forever adds a Bait and Tackle crafting window, the Fish Bowl / Fishing Rack / Fishing Hut camp line, new catches and recipes, new skill boosts and a reworked Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza.

WoW: Forever is in beta. Everything on this page comes from Forever sources and the beta client, and may change before launch on 4 November 2026.

New in Forever

[edit | edit source]
  • New catches and recipes: the Whimsyfin in Redridge Mountains, Plated Armorfish, and recipes for Raw Plated Armorfish, Zesty Clam Meat and Clam Linguine.
  • Seasonal Fish Steaks: cut from Raw Winter Squid or Raw Summer Bass using a Chef's Knife (82 copper, Fishing 275). The Fishing Hut uses them.
  • Trophy fish sell for a silver per pound. Ten Bloated fish are now uncommon and bind on pickup.
  • Riverglades, a new zone reached by boat near Tanaris, has fishing pools that can give trunks.
  • Skill boosts: the Wide-Brimmed Fishing Hat, "Secret" Bait and Shiny Silver Coin.
  • Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza: reworked. It crowns a Master Angler for six and a half days and pays out coins for Jang's new prizes.

Camping

[edit | edit source]

Anglers build camp objects in the new Bait and Tackle window. They sit at a player's campfire; for how camps work, see Camping. Each craft makes 2 objects. Tier 2 and 3 need Blueprints and can be placed over a Fish Bowl to replace it.

Tier Object Skill Effect Reagents Source
1 Fish Bowl 20 You and others sitting nearby gain 8% increased stats. Does not stack with Blessing of Kings. Raw Brilliant Smallfish, Empty Vial Trainer (Camping 101 quest)
2 Fishing Rack 140 Catch uncommon fish for 1 hour, plus Fishing skill lures and all Fish Bowl benefits. 2 Simple Wood, Crystal Vial, 2 Raw Mithril Head Trout Blueprint: Fishing Rack
3 Fishing Hut 300 Catch rare fish for 1 hour, plus Fishing skill lures and all Fish Bowl benefits. Reported to need character level 60. 5 Simple Wood, 2 Bolt of Runecloth, Seasonal Fish Steaks Blueprint: Fishing Hut

Which uncommon and rare fish the Rack and Hut unlock isn't confirmed yet.

Legacy

[edit | edit source]

Secondary professions earn no Legacy Points. These account-wide perks help Fishing:

  • Luremaster (Professions, 2 ranks): while a lure is active, 25 / 50% chance to catch an extra fish.
  • Working Overtime and Dedicated Study (Professions): faster skill-ups.
  • Reagent Economy (Resourcefulness): the Fish Bowl costs no reagents.

Pairing

[edit | edit source]

Cooking is the natural partner, since fish carry most of the Cooking route. Some catches also supply Alchemy.
