The Drowned City is a new dungeon in World of Warcraft: Forever: an ancient troll city that has suddenly risen out of the ocean off the coast of Stranglethorn Vale, now crawling with naga, makrura and undead, with a wrecked pirate ship in the middle of it.
It was the first of the new Forever dungeons that players could try hands-on, at BlizzCon in September 2026. It is above the level cap of the early Forever beta, so very little about it has been confirmed yet.
This dungeon is above the level cap of the early Forever beta. Details come from Blizzard's announcement and BlizzCon previews; this page will be expanded as information comes in.

History
[edit | edit source]At the BlizzCon 2026 "What's Next" panel, Blizzard described a sunken troll city that has suddenly risen out of the sea and can now be seen from the Stranglethorn shore. Trolls and naga have been seen inside, and a pirate ship appears to have crashed into the ruins. Why the city rose is one of the mysteries players uncover inside.
Layout
[edit | edit source]From BlizzCon previews, the dungeon follows the pattern of earlier troll instances like Zul'Farrak and the Sunken Temple. It starts with a linear path and then opens into a large space as you go deeper, without many confusing side passages. The open layout lets groups choose their own pulls, but the patrols and tightly packed groups of enemies hit hard.
Bosses
[edit | edit source]Only one boss has been named in previews so far:
- Zul'Alai – encountered soon after entering, with a strong enrage when close to death.
Previews describe each boss as progressively stronger and more demanding than the last. The full roster, abilities and loot haven't been confirmed yet.
Enemies
[edit | edit source]Previews mention makrura, naga, undead, and large enraged trolls like those in the Temple of Atal'Hakkar.
Quests
[edit | edit source]No quests for this dungeon have been confirmed yet.
Loot
[edit | edit source]No loot has been recorded yet. Blizzard has said Forever's dungeons will include many new drops, with every unique boss item raised to blue (rare) quality, and that some bosses drop Blueprint recipes for professions and Camping.
