Dire Maul is the ruined Highborne city of Eldre'Thalas in Feralas, split into three wings. East is overrun by satyrs and corrupted creatures, West holds the last Highborne and the demon they have imprisoned, and North is home to the Gordok ogres.
Each wing is a separate instance. Together they are some of the best endgame dungeons for level 55–60 characters, and they're known for the North wing's "tribute run". Their level range is above what the Forever beta had opened at the time of writing, so this page is mostly based on Classic data.
Very little Forever-specific data exists for this dungeon yet. Content marked as Classic data may change before launch on 4 November 2026.

History
- Lore from Classic – Forever may differ.
Eldre'Thalas was a great city of the Highborne, the night elf nobility, built thousands of years ago. After the Sundering it survived, hidden and shielded by magic. The Highborne who remained, the Shen'dralar, trapped the demon Immol'thar within the city and drew on its power to keep themselves alive, led by Prince Tortheldrin. Over time the city fell into ruin. The Gordok ogres moved into the northern quarter and crowned their own king, and the eastern gardens were overrun by satyrs and twisted creatures.
Getting there
The ruins are in central Feralas, between Camp Mojache and Feathermoon Stronghold. The three wing entrances are around the ruins' central courtyard, the Broken Commons. To open the doors inside, you need the Crescent Key, which Pusillin drops in the East wing.
East

- Pusillin – an imp who runs away when you talk to him. Chase him through the wing to make him fight, and loot the Crescent Key from him.
- Zevrim Thornhoof – a satyr leader.
- Hydrospawn – a water elemental.
- Lethtendris – a night elf sorceress with her pet.
- Alzzin the Wildshaper – the final boss of the East wing, who shapeshifts during the fight.
- Isalien – summoned with a druid quest item.

Quests
- Classic data – Forever may differ.
- The Crescent Key – needed to open the doors in all three wings.
- The Shen'dralar – the Highborne library in the West wing offers class-specific quests (the "Libram" and class book quests) and reputation.
- Unfinished Gordok Business and Gordok Ogre Suit – quests in the North wing.
- Elven Legends and The Madness Within – quests from Feralas and the Shen'dralar about the city's history.
Tips
- Get the Crescent Key from Pusillin first; the other wings need it.
- Learn the tribute run for North. Done right, it's one of the best sources of loot in the game at this level.
- In West, destroy the pylons one at a time. Each has its own set of guards.
